The Android Smartphone segment below Rs.15, 000, price tag has witnessed many launches in last few months. Almost every smatphone brand, including Micromax, Karbonn, HTC, Nokia, Sony and Samsung have launched their offering in this segment. However, Motorola Moto G, which was launched a few months back, is still a bestselling and popular smartphone in this segment.

Earlier, Micromax launched its high performing flagship Canvas Turbo A250, which has now got a price cut and is available for around Rs. 14, 000 in the market. The 16GB version of Moto G is also available with the same price tag.

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 sports a 5-inch IPS LCD Capacitive Multi-touch screen display, which is capable of producing Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 441 pixels per inch.

The Motorola Moto G sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD Multi-touch screen display, which produces 16M colours at an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 326 pixels per inch. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor & RAM

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 is powered by MediaTek MT6589T Quad Core Processor clocked at 1.5GHz and supported by 2GB RAM & GPU PowerVR SGX544MP2. This hardware configuration is capable to easily run huge applications and HD games, without any lag on the device.

Whereas, the Moto G is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 Quad Core Cortex-A7 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

Operating System

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS. While the Moto G runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which can be updated to latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.


Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 houses a 13 Megapixels Autofocus rear camera featuring LED flash and Full HD 1080p video recording support. It also packs a 5 Megapixels secondary camera on the front for capturing your selfies and supporting video calls.

While, the Motorola Moto G houses a 5 Megapixels Autofocus rear camera, supported with an LED flash. It also packs a 1.3 Megapixels front facing camera. The rear camera on Moto G can record 720p HD videos.


Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 boasts 16GB of internal memory, which cannot be expanded through a MicroSD card. The Motorola Moto G is offered in two variants boasting 8GB & 16GB of internal memory. The Moto G also misses a MicroSD card slot.


The connectivity features on both Micromax Canvas Turbo and Motorola Moto G are almost same. This list includes 3G, GPRS with EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS, MicroUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm Audio Jack.


The Micromax Canvas Turbo is fuelled by 2000mAH non-removable battery, while the Motorola Moto G is fuelled by a 2070mAH non-removable battery.


In this comparative review, we found that both smartphones are well enough to offer you an exciting Android smartphone experience. We found both of them a worthy buy deal. The Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 steps ahead by housing a bigger & better display, Processor, RAM and Camera. However, the Moto G runs on an updates Android version, which is better in terms of usage and added features.
