Jaipur, being the capital of Rajasthan, speaks of a rich culture and heritage and thus boasts of various places of interest. Jaipur is actually a city full of surprises. Apart from the well-known forts like Amer, Jaigarh and Nahargarh, there are a lot of other places of interest that you can visit in and around Jaipur!

All you have to do is have a car arranged for you from the hotel heritage in jaipur where you are staying and head out to the following places to check out the hidden treasures of this place:

Within the city
Amer, Jaigarh and Nahargarh forts are a must. Assuming that you have covered the Hawa Mahal as well, here are a few places that you must try out in the city:

·         Jantar Mantar: This is an observatory which was built by Jai Singh. This is already acknowledged as a national monument. The attraction of this place is its astronomical instruments. This entire structure has been built using locally found stone and marble and a walk through the Jantar Mantar is truly an amazing experience that you should not give a miss. Do not forget to check out the huge sun dial right at the centre!

·         Jal Mahal: Right in the middle of the Sagar Lake, you have a beautiful structure known as the Jal Mahal or Water Palace. Sawai Raja Jai Singh was responsible for retouching and renovating this structure back in the 1700s. There are a couple of manmade islands on this lake. These have been designed in order to provide migratory birds with a place to rest. Thus, if you visit Jaipur in winter, which is the best time to visit this place, you will find a flock of colourful birds perched on the various islands of this lake!

·         Raj Mandir Cinema: If you want to try out something that really forms a part of Jaipur’s cultural life, then do check out the Raj Mandir Hall, which is well known for its architecture.

All little outside the city
If you are interested in trying out a few places that are a little off route the main area of the city, then head out from your resort heritage in jaipur in a car and visit these places:

·         Sakshi Block printing: Block printing is one of the major art forms that are popular in Rajasthan. If you visit this factory, you will get a clear idea how the process works, which colours are used and you will get a firsthand experience about how the artists actually work.

·         Galta Monkey Temple: This temple is only 20kms away from Jaipur. Literally lodged between two cliffs, this temple is a structure of pink sandstone. Apart from enjoying the palatial interiors, you can also witness a beautiful sunset from here.

No matter how tight a schedule you are on; do try out these places for an experience of a life time!
